North Norfolk Coastal Area
No.3 Bridge Cottage is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is an ideal base from which to explore the North Norfolk coast and surrounding area. The beautiful coast is only a ten minute drive away. For the more energetic the beach at Kelling is a leisurely forty five minute stroll from the cottage doorstep, through woods and across Kelling Heath with superb coastal views along the way.
The cottage is ideally located for visiting the local RSPB and NWT reserves along the coast, especially the renowned NWT reserve at Cley where there is an excellent visitor’s centre. Picturesque Blakeney harbour and the award winning beaches at Sheringham and Wells are all with in easy reach.
The steam trains on the North Norfolk Railway run by the cottage and terminate at Holt station which is within walking distance. A new museum opened at the Holt station in 2006 and shows how the railway helped develop the North Norfolk coast as a holiday destination. There are many lovely walks and cycle routes accessible from your doorstep including those in Holt Country Park. Golf and fishing are also available locally.
The Georgian town of Holt is only two miles away and has a wide range of shops and lots of places to dine. The town really comes into its own at Christmas time when the Christmas lights and decorations draw visitors from far and wide. The Norfolk Broads and the ‘Fine City’ of Norwich are easily accessible.
